Laughing is the absolute best thing you can do, both for your mental and physical health. Yep, you’re right, it’s the best medicine available AND it’s free!
I’m sure it’s obvious that when you laugh, you feel good. You feel happy, relaxed and peaceful. Laughing is a fabulous cure for when you’re sad or down. This is because it releases endorphins, so called ‘feel good’ chemicals. After doing some research I also found out that it is great at reducing stress levels by relaxing your body and muscles.
To be really scientific, laughter even improves the immune system, reducing stress hormones and generates antibodies. It also improves blood flow and therefore decreases the risk of heart disease. It even decreases blood sugar levels!
On top of that, laughing generally improves your mood – and a good mood and smile attract more people to you. What you give out, you get back. You want friends who laugh and are happy right? Ever since I changed my thinking and started being happy I’ve had the best friends who are just as happy and smiley. We laugh over the weirdest things and I love it.
So – get your favourite comedy movie or your funniest friend (or both) and laugh your night away. You may feel like you’re out of air at some point, but trust me, it’s good for you ;) There’s tons of funny videos on youtube, and if you think someone else could have their mood lifted, send one to them. My favourite thing to do is to watch comedian’s shows, like the one I posted in the top. I guarantee you it will make you laugh.
